I am glad that V Magazine did a size issue, the covers are suppose to distinguish the differences of beauty but I am really quite bored of seeing Dakota Fanning everywhere, don't take me personally I just think if you're going to show the differences of beauty in the world today you don't put a 15-year old on the cover.
BUT besides that it looks like a great issue, but the only thing that bothers me is still how unaccepting the fashion world is to "plus-size" women. Bigger girls should be photographed and put in fashion magazines more than one issue a year.
I also think that designers should make collections specially made for bigger girls, i'm not talking about extremely obese women but just bigger women than five foot nine, 100 pound girls. Besides models, no one looks like that, even if I was a model I would probably be called plus size just because i'm over one hundred pounds and shorter than 5'7.
I love Karl and I think it's great that he shot the Coco-A-Gogo editorial for V but his quotes like:
"No one wants to see curvy women. You've got fat mothers with their bags of chips sitting in front of the television and saying that thin models are ugly."
And of course not forgetting his quotes about saying how 'fat' Heidi Klum was, I think that the fashion world needs to take off their rose colored glasses and realize what real women look like and they should stop refering them as "plus-size" because hearing that everytime a little bigger than average model is in a magazine or on the runway is starting to bother my ears.
But overall I think V-magazine deserves a round of applause for doing this issue.
