parisian chic no not really more like parisian simplicity

the guide to dressing like a parisian while actually just a tourist or a guide to anyone who wants to look like a lovely french lady

When anyone thinks about Paris, instantly you think of film star lovelies like Marilyn Monroe or Audrey Hepburn. Red lips, perfectly curled hair, a trench coat, a little black dress, and of course the perfect pair of heels. But actually it's simpler than that! If anyone ever wanted a one word answer to describe the way Parisians dress, my answer would be: J.Crew. It's layers upon layers to keep warm, a good pair of shoes, a scarf and actually kind of a boyish look to it but still at the same time feminine. Simple clothes, and besides maybe a striped shirt/t-shirt dress definitely no graphic print tee's.

one pair of shoes; two outfits

And dear fellow Americans, you do more walking in Paris than you do in Disneyland but that doesn't mean you have to grab your running sneakers or go to Sketcher's to find their best shoe. Rather i'd suggest going to a  store like Clark's that makes ultra-comfortable shoes well worth the price and don't make you look like you belong in a gym.

A good example of a staple closet to pack with you for your trip, every piece goes with each other. Don't forget a good heavy coat and scarf!

P.S. when it comes to everything from the top of your head down to your toes, remember this one rule: keep it simple! So.. that does mean no spending an hour on your hair and make-up. Instead blow dry your hair, brush it out and as for make up stick to an SPF based foundation, rosy colored blush, eyelash curler and a radiance powder and if you want to do something more, wing tipped eye liner is always great!

Good luck!
