So, I must tell you first that I, just as I mentioned, before that I have a bit of dry skin, more so during the winter. My acne is much worse in the summer than it is any other time of year. My hair isn't really wavy or curly, it's just a huge mess if I don't straighten or curl it. Sometimes it can manage to look rather flat, which is why I love the Pantene Volume shampoo. I read about it in an issue of Glamour, where it was recommended by Rachel Zoe's hair stylist.
This shampoo is one that I don't mind using time I shower, usually I try to go in between shampoos in fear that my hair would grow immune to my favorite if I chose to stick with only one but this I love! If you want to look like you have healthy, naturally voluminous hair than this shampoo is absolute perfection! Typically I use a volume mousse on my hair while it's wet but with this I can skip it and just let it air dry!
Nicolas Hair Care All-in-1 conditioner is the best conditioner I've ever used, yes, ever. It soaks in immediately, there's no need to let it set in for a couple minutes. It's soft and very light, doesn't weigh hair down like nearly every other conditioner I've used. When I started using it I noticed a complete difference in my hair, I was able to shower every three days instead of my normal every other day shower routine. Without sounding cheesy, this conditioner really did change my life and made my styling routine much easier!
I had read about Queen Helene's Mint Julep scrub on just about every beauty blog. It's sworn to be pure magic all for only a few dollars from Sally's. At the time my skin needed a major pick me up and this certainly helps! I swear by it, especially since most facial scrubs tend to be a bit costly. This one is easy to find, no matter where you live and seems to help just about any skin type. Even with my dry skin, this helps whenever my clogs begin to clog up from dirt and sweat. The mint is refreshing and as I find, it's best to use in the shower. That way the beads are easy to wash off and you don't end up walking around with them stuck in crevices around your face!
I received a DermaMitt in a BirchBox well around a year ago and it's become an absolute essential for me now! You don't need to use it with a face wash or a scrub, I actually recommend you don't. Just bring it in the shower, soak it in water and rub it all over your face, even your chest and back area if you please. I like to use it on my cheeks as I tend to have bigger pores in that area. It helps most when going through bad spells of acne and clogged pores.
Now shaving is something that I've always hated! I get the worst razor burn, for so long it seemed as if nothing would help! I've had bad luck with every brand of shaving cream, I've tried electric razors, men's razors but still after every shower I'd run around as my legs suffered the most terrible burn. I'd have to sit in the tub for a half an hour after every shave, letting cold water run over them until the pain would stop. It became such a hassle that I'd decided to wear jeans all the time and not shave again. After finding this in Target and trying it once, I can say I'm hooked! This razor has literally become my best friend, there's no need for any shaving cream, just let warm water run over your legs for a few minutes before using and you'll be fine.
It is a bit pricey but compared to the results it's more than worth it. I am certain we'll become better acquainted during summer when my legs are on display more often than they are now.
I know olive oil looks a bit silly on this list but I'm not lying! Grab the bottle of olive oil from your kitchen cabinet, pour a capful over each one of your legs, rub it in after shaving. Put a bit on your face, chest, arms and I'm certain you'll look like a glowing goddess. I wouldn't at all recommend putting olive oil on your face if you have oily skin but for me with my flaky, dry winter skin this is heaven. Usually the skin on my arms looks dull but after massaging the oil over my arms in the shower, I must confess that I had a moment where I understood how fabulous Beyonce must feel.
